How it works
The secret to what makes an Aga Cooker different from all other
ranges lies within its cast iron walls. An Aga Cooker is the only
range that uses gentle radiant heat to cook food. Radiant heat
keeps food moist while retaining nutrients and flavors, so food
cooked in an Aga actually tastes different. (Other ranges use heated
air to cook food, which dries it out and allows nutrients to escape.)
Radiant heat makes preparing succulent poultry, perfect bread,
and incredible cheesecake easier and faster. Each oven maintains
a temperature zone, and venting options allow for multiple items
to be cooked simultaneously without affecting flavors (for example,
bacon and pie may be cooked at the same time).
Owning an Aga Cooker provides unprecedented cooking freedom, saving
you time and worry every step of the way. Imagine:
-
Never waiting for an oven to preheat
-
Needing less time to prepare and cook food
-
Using multiple ovens simultaneously
-
Cooking food safely while you're away from home
-
Worrying less about exact timing and temperatures
-
Virtually no oven cleaning
And an Aga Cooker is a smart investment. A four or two oven Aga
Cooker equates to owning a professional range, a brick pizza/bread
oven, a warming oven, a convection oven, a slow cooker, a dehydrator,
a microwave, a toaster, a vegetable and rice steamer, a griddle,
coffee maker and a grill-all in one appliance.
And since an overhead ventilation isn't required, owners save
even more.
Given the multi-functionality and the expected longevity (one
hundred years plus), an heirloom-quality Aga Cooker may be the
most cost-effective investment you'll ever make in your home.
The large capacity of an Aga Cooker is a surprising feature. One
oven can easily hold a 28 lb. turkey. And since there's no need
to allow space for hot air to flow around the food, every inch
of the oven capacity may be used for cooking. With the help of
special design features, multiple racks of food may be easily stacked.
The top hot plates (similar to burners) can each hold up to three
pots at a time.

-
Insulated covers
Those twin insulated covers are the great AGA hallmark. When closed, they’re
just gentlywarm to the touch. Open them and both hot plates are instantly
ready to cook.
-
Boiling plate
A high heat that can boil water faster than most electric kettles. It’s
large enough to hold three average sized saucepans at once.
-
Heat source
Once an aga is up to operating temperature just a trickle of energy is
all that’s needed to keep it there. The model show is designed
to work on Natural Gas or Propane (no oil fired Aga's in North America).
-
Simmering plate
Again it holds three average sized saucepans. It also can be used as a
griddle.
-
Roasting oven
This oven can take anything up to a 28 Lbs. turkey. It is also used for
grilling and it doubles for baking.
-

-
Simmering oven
Using this versatile oven, really a large slow cooker, in conjunction with
the hotter ovens and hotplates is the key to Aga cooking simplicity – and
its wonderful flavours.
-

Featured on every 4 – oven AGA. It keeps cooked food warm without
drying out, ideal for entertaining.
